Badminton Australia

High Performance

Badminton Australia has a highperformance system which is underpinned by our What It Takes to Win & HP Strategy. The strategy provides the framework to support athlete development at an international level, including BWF World Tour events, Commonwealth Games and Olympic & Paralympic Games, as well as helping coaches and performance support specialists with the skills and knowledge to support athletes with their progression.

Funding for High Performance for badminton comes from the Australian Institute of Sport with a focus on AIS Categorised athletes for the 2028 and 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

As part of Badminton Australia’s Performance Pathway, opportunities are offered through clubs, schools, associations and states / territories for athletes with potential to develop, ready for competing on the world stage (and their coaches). The Performance Pathway Partners (PPP) Program supports athletes Daily Performance Environment, working with key BA High Performance staff on athlete development plans and ongoing professional development for PPP coaches.

National Performance Programs

The national programs for Junior, Senior and Para consist of players identified as having the level and/or potential to achieve the objectives set out by Badminton Australia as part of the WITTW and High-Performance Strategy. Training camps, specialised coaching, physical performance development, sports science and financial support are provided.
