Following the launch of Badminton Australia’s (BA) new strategic plan, we are excited to share our new National Participation Plan (NPP).
As participation and awareness of badminton continues to grow in Australia, it is important that we set ourselves up for success by capitalising on opportunities, creating the right frameworks and diversifying our touchpoints to encourage as many participants as possible to pick up a racket.
The NPP 2025-2028+ is aligned to the Australian Sports Commission’s (ASC) ‘Play Well’ Strategy and focuses on five priority areas as identified in the Plan on a Page below.
“This is BA’s first comprehensive national participation plan and clearly sets out our priorities over the next few years,” National Participation Manager, Sonia Gouveia said.
“Created in consultation with our member States and Territories and with support from the ASC, the NPP was the first step in assessing our current strengths and challenges. In collaboration with stakeholders, BA will implement the plan through thoughtful leadership, advocacy of our sport, good governance, meaningful programs, supportive resources and leveraging funding opportunities to ensure everyone has the opportunity to play.”
“By emphasising our core values of excellence, boldness, integrity, teamwork, and inclusivity, we are ready to ensure our sport has a promising future.”
BA would like to thank Nikki Burger, from Life Sport Journey, for her leadership in developing the plan and our states, territories, ASC and partners who helped to guide the direction and content.
Together we are ready to make sure that #anyonecanplay
